toxic tours

What are they?
A 1.5 hour tour of the different sites in East Palo Alto that have a history related to our fight for social and environmental justice. It includes development projects that have caused people to lose their homes, sites that have chemical contamination, and other struggles facing low-income, people of color.

How they got developed

YUCA youth have developed toxic tours over the years through research and reading, talking to community folks and doing organizing around the issues. We then compiled our information into summaries or "stories" so that we could take people around and show them a different side to East Palo Alto .

Who they're for

**Primarily - for youth and community residents of East Palo Alto
**Secondarily - for others who want to know information about EPA

Why they're important

**Because EPA youth, not other folks from universities, media, etc., put together all this information and are telling our own "truths" about what's going on in our own community.
** To educate others, specifically EPA youth, about the bigger picture of our community - the health and environmental impacts we live with everyday but may not realize.
